Not a big deal but just another annoyance on the Mac.

Download and install Adobe Lightroom 2 for OS X.  Now you have two
versions of Lightroom. Ugh

Download and install Adobe Lightroom 2 for Windows. It knows enough to
remove Lightroom 1.4

Once again saving you a bit of time. Windows is simply more efficient.

Now I suppose you could just drag version 1.4 to the trashcan, but it
should be removed automatically.

All these little things add up. Like not being able to "one button"
backup your movie DVD thereby making it not "Set It and Forget It"

Like not having drop downs of user names for websites like Gmail.

and not know enough to remove the old version of a program when you
are upgrading.

and having to hit Command-Backspace to delete a file instead of just
hitting the delete key.

If you are new here... stick with Windows. It's simply easier and
better to use.

What if you don't want the old version to be uninstalled?  What if you
want the keep the old version around for a while just in case the new
versions turns out to be a little buggy?  Wouldn't it be nice if you had
the choice?  Choice is good, yes?  Mac OS version gives you that choice;
Windows versions doesn't.  Advantage Mac!

What if you want both?  I do not use Lightroom but I do use Dreamweaver -
and I have two versions (the newer is a beta still).  I mostly use the beta
for my day to day use but I teach classes based on the old ones - so I have
need for both.

I recently upgraded to MS Office 2008.  I kept my older version around for a
few days to make sure the new one was as good as the old (takes some getting
used to but I think it is... not that I use anything other than Entourage
much).

I would be disappointed if I could not do that with other software.

*Maybe* as an option in the installer - that is what MS Office on the Mac
did.

Heck, I do zero button automatic backups of my whole drive... that is a
bigger deal than backing up a DVD.

I agree that is a weakness of Safari.

As an option... maybe a good thing.  But my computer should not  delete a
program I do not tell it to!

Makes sense to not have it so easy to accidently delete a file.

If so, cool!  But some apps don't.  I'm thinking at the moment of IE.
Recently upgraded to IE7.  It dawned on me later than I needed IE6 too
for testing web pages on.  Why didn't it give the option of leaving IE6
on there?  In fact, you can't even have them both installed at the same
time without special work arounds.  Irritating!

Some changes in UI can take some time getting used to.  Nice to be
able to immediately fall back to the familiar to get some project done
without being impaired by the learning curve of the new application.

Like...why?   How much of your HD space is it really occupying?
Storage is now under 15 cents per Gigabyte.  Knock yourself out.

A feature that only trolls with sockpuppets are demanding :-)

So when the family cat jumps up on the desk/lap, how long does it take
on a PC to recover from all the files that his keyboard walk
deletes?
