I know about AVG, but from my experience with it on my old IBM wasn't good.
Both it and Nortons were boot up time hogs. You usually had to wait
about an extra 5 minutes.
Not a problem on newer PCs though. Still, an extra resource that you
have to manage.
Yet a significant risk that OS X doesn't have to put up with.

Check the price of an equivalent iMac at HP. Even though the
touchscreen is an
extra, its price is a bit more. Plus you still have to add an extra
$600 or more for
the professional development tools.
