Yup, its a random idea. Random changes are really unlikely to fix
your issue, compared to understanding what is happening. Put all your
load and onload stuff back as it was, it was fine.

As Marcelo likes to point out, anything is possible.
I think to make that work you would need to modify the clusterer code
that you are using to give it knowledge of your checkboxes.
A more general solution might to be to add the ability to tell it
whether markers are visible or not (add a .show()/.hide()

You could "manually" do the clustering with the marker manager. Put
markers for the regions at low zoom levels, then once you reach the
"local" zoom level, have it show the "local" markers.

Correct. They just have to be able to see the map (and your
implementation which uses it.) Your personal stuff does not need to be
part of that. I don't know what is in the mind of Google, but I think
the "spirit" of that section is to make it so a) you don't use their

To really be on the sure side, again in short: If a random user
without a password can see the Google Maps, further sites (with e.g.
vacation pictures, without Google Maps) do not have to be public,

As long as the map implementation is publicly available, you should be
good. You are not required to, say, make the target at the other end
of a link in an info window publicly available.
Just ask yourself this: can I, random person on the internet, see your
map and the code that drives it?

Hi,
I use GMap2 to display a map in my web page. I use GMap2's methods
getcenter(), getsize(), getzoom() to get its information and pass them
into static map API to generate a map image to display on other part
of my web page. But the static map returned is not the same as the
original map. It is about 100 yards away from the original one.

Just a thought--is one site returning a float and the other returning
a string for the coordinates? That might explain the behavior, and why
the points seem to be the same but behave differently.

I've looked at libraries like MarkerClusterer ([link]

work great to have clusters created organically, but what I'm
currently attempting to do is create clusters based on specific
geographic areas (think states, countries, provinces, etc.).

I've read the Terms of Service, but could not derive a definite answer
to my (simple) question from it, so here it is:
My private, publicly accessible website contains a subsite called
"vacation pictures", which is just an overview / list of all vacation

I've added the clusterer function and it works great! thank you so
much. But now I'm wondering how do I get the drop down box to work at
full zoom out? The drop down box is a bunch of plant categories. So
when the category is called those dots show up. Some of the categories
only have a few dots, but when I select that category I still get the
