A mathematical proof that there is no “climate crisis” has been published in debate on global warming in Physics and Society, a scientific publication of the 46,000-strong American Physical Society.
Christopher Monckton, who once advised Margaret Thatcher, demonstrates via 30 equations that computer models used by the UN’s climate panel (IPCC) were pre-programmed with overstated values for the three variables whose product is “climate sensitivity” (temperature increase in response to greenhouse-gas increase), resulting in a 500-2000% overstatement of CO2’s effect on temperature in the IPCC’s latest climate assessment report, published in 2007.

I guess that glacier in Greenland that just developed a huge crack and is about to fall into the sea doesn't read such publications, eh?

The polar bears they spotted swimming last week do read it though, one was apparently doing a backstroke and reading that very article to the others.

Even if overestimated by a factor of 10 global warming is catastrophic, but the estimates are out of date anyway, and the reality is apparent. daveA
I thought this was a forum for scientific discourse, not for dogma. If, as one would not be surprised to learn, the paper mentioned by the OP is little more than a lot of junk, devoid of any scientific value then let's debunk it. If we can't then at least let us reserve our judgment until somebody who can does so.
All these comments about anectodal observations and press releases are useless as debunking attempts, and the cute, facetious ones project a very poor image as far as the scientific education of those who contributed them.

What can you see of mathematical in a scoop about overstated parameters?
Where is a model that says that all is going well?
Let me know if you happen to find one.
In the meantime let's buy meat, says the financial advisor.
All is perfect for those who use no parameters at all.

Dave,
It is all a bunch of bunk. The earth warms and it cools - nothing we can do to significantly change that. There is this thing in the sky we call the "sun" that pretty much controls everything on a large scale. Smaller things, like volcanic activities have effects, as well.
Mowing your grass with a manual mower or getting killed in a fender- bender driver your Yugo is just pointless, as far as the world's climate is concerned.

John-
I'd love to get you together for a chat with my friend Michael Allison of NASA's Goddard Institute!
The worst part of the global warming issue is that it has become politicized, but that seems to be changing for the better lately.

Thank GOD for the few remaining real men we have left. John I think your on to something here other liberal scumbags can't see, and you don't even have a degree in science for GOD's sake, you figured it ALL out without even having one degree....... fucking brilliant man! This is proof that the conservative mind is far superior to liberal commie mind. Wolli said and I quote " A true Rupublican looks at the content of a man's character, not the color of his skin". This brings fucking tears to my eyes.
In your " BIG THING LITTLE THING THEORY" you brilliantly pointed out the sun is BIG, I mean, I'm talking fucking BIG, HUGE.....BIGGER than Andrew Schulman's Ass, and that's pretty fucking big, and it's getting bigger by the day now he can't walk his dogs..................... I digress.....
John I just want to let you know I'm on board with your observations. The Sun is huge and a volcano is small..... period! This is so simple yet extremely profound! These fucking liberal scumbags screw it all up with thier superior than thou science and crap! And we know that devil incarnate Sir Richard Owen planted that fucking dinosaur bone to test us.
John one last word of advice, Market your idea! Anything less would be a liberal copout! You need to call it " Big Thing Little Thing" this is highly marketable. Like Viagra, Cialis, and the like. See where I'm going with this? Big thing, little thing/Viagra. You see John the American people relate to a slogan, they don't want a bunch of fucking liberal information and facts. Their brilliant minds ( like your) can't relate to all this fact shit........ You get it brother John!
